Love this. So much!

This is totally brilliant, Bill. I don't know how you feel about writing for children, but this would make a truly fantastic book for children, I can even see a movie coming out of it. Did you have to do much research into the various historical points? Would love to know what inspired you to come up with such an original idea!

Wholeheartedly agreeing with this!

Thank you, Jilly. I'm happy you enjoyed the story. I plan to expand Hopsotching even beyond this set of stories. And I'd love for it to be a movie! (Disney are you listening?)

I research as I wrote. I find the hardest part of writing time travel stories is getting the arithmetic right, ages, dates, distance in time traveled--they all have to add up.

I don't remember how I originally came up with the idea for Hopsotching, but I was intrigued by the game and thought, wouldn't it be cool if a hopscotch board could also be a time portal.

Wow! The beginning made me think of Jumanji! 😂 🤣 What a complex story but well executed!!!

Thanks so much. There may be more coming in the Hopscotch series.

Now that was mega complicated!!

Excellent

Thanks, Deirdre. Whenever I write a time travel story, I have to do a lot of arithmetic to make sure the years, ages and other details add up. I write time travel with a calculator app open on my PC.

Sounds like a good idea!! The number re the tic-tax-toe… just genius 🤣

I love the adventure of time travel! I’m glad the family got together. 😀👍

Thank you, Gail. I'm happy you enjoyed the story -- and the ending. I have a feeling there's more time travel to come. :)

I love time travel stories, many have elaborate time machines but this story uses a simplified approach to moving through time which allows us to focus on the results of the travel adventure.

I also like the fact that the traveler is a little girl, you really caught the essence of that character well. Good job. Guess I now have to read your other stuff.

Thanks, Scott. The more adventures I wrote, the more I enjoyed writing about the trips, rather than the mechanism of time travel.

There's one constant in time travel (just guessing here) which is: Time travel is always going to surprise you.
