Hmm. While I love Stephen King novels, I think that I wouldn't want to be in one. Yes, I'm sure about that. I think a scifi adventure to another world is where I'd like to go.
What about you, Sharron? I what novel would you like to live?
Oh, no question about it -- I want to live in my own novel, Bartle Clunes, in the small settlement of Riles Crossing in the California foothills of 1949. Good people living together peacefully. https://sharronbassano.substack.com/s/bartle-clunes
You know what? Of course, writers want to live in our own novels. I hadn't thought about that, but that's why we write them. And maybe we already live there.
Wow! That's an original concept. Thank you for reminding me of a book I read, loved and hated when I was about 12. It was so sad, yet haunting. I hope in their book world Rima doesn't die.
Cool idea. I once asked my readers if they could be a character in a book for a day, who would they choose. But being yourself in a book would be awesome also. But maybe not for the rest of your life. A week at a time would do. They would make great vacations.
"Can they do that? Put a book chip in you for breaking the law?" - This could be the basis of so many awesome sci-fi thriller plots, like some combination of the Inkheart series and Minority Report. Wonderful concept, and I liked the descriptions in part 2 as well!
I'm waiting for the day when they can do this with animated cartoons....I know several whose universes are so enchanting I wish I could be part of them.
Merry Christmas to you, storyteller extraordinaire.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Bill! Your stories continue to inspire, and they give me creative inspiration for 2024. Thanks for sharing and posting.
Now you have me wondering.... what book would Mr. Adler choose live in?

Yes, exactly.. I love the people and the place

I had a dream once in which Rima didn't die; it was a good dream.
I'm glad you liked inside Green Mansions.
“Can they do that? Put a book chip in you for breaking the law?”
Jacobson narrowed his eyes. “Yes.”
😅 Pray, it's not Rats by James Herbert... 😈
There are a lot of books I'd like to live in, but also a lot I wouldn't. Stephen King's The Shining comes to mind, too.
Oh, quite a few indeed! Clive Barker, as well. 😅
Interesting!
Thank you, Christina!
I love that the science was not quite right about all the details. :-)
And when we dream, who knows what really happens. :)
😳🤔

Because everything that can go wrong will go wrong, a week's vacation in a book might turn into a lifetime, so choose wisely.
So true.
That's such a fantastic idea - living inside the novel of your choice with your loved ones. Hmm.. So many to choose from
Living inside a book with people you love is even better than rereading your favorite book.
Loved it, Bill! Now I’ll be up late thinking about what book I’d like to live in.
Thank you. As long as I'm not living in my middle school algebra textbook I'll be happy.

Thank you, Sam. I'm glad you enjoyed Inside Green Mansions.
I'm thinking about a sequel, which I sometimes do for stories. Or perhaps more than one story to come.
Great concept! 50 Shades of Grey here I come! Perhaps these chips could be available at the local library and we could 'check out' as many as we like!
Thank you, Peter.
Wouldn't that be great, to implant a book and live that adventure until you're ready for the next book.
A brilliant idea!

Hi David, I'd love to be inside a cartoon. That would be the best life--or at least adventure.
I'm glad you enjoyed "Inside Green Mansion."
Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, too, Brian. I hope you have a wonderful 2024. I'm glad you enjoy the stories.
Loved the story and was happy they found each other in the end ❤️
Me, too, Osasuyi. I'm glad Ellie and Aaron have their life together.
Magic world with a twist at the end . . . as always
Thank you, Sharon. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed Inside Green Mansions and the twist.
Very imaginative Bill. Matrix style.
Thank you, Donald! I like the comparison. Cheers, Bill
