OMG, this is such a sad read! A similar way to how I got my cat, and I really hope I outlive her, as she hasn't any teeth and can't hunt for good (or able to nibble on my cold, stiff carcass should I die in bed and not be found by a family member for quite some time.

Still, a good read!

Thanks, Tony.

I cried when I finished writing One Last Decision. Then I held my cat for a long time.

I cried as I finished reading your story. I have five lovely cats so this struck a chord in me.

I love this. I have zero cats. I am so allergic to them I die if we live together. But I know they connect deeply with some and I know why. Many think dogs are the ideal companion. But dogs give up everything they are to be loved. Cats meet you as an equal. I will always trust cat people more than I trust dog people for this reason.

I'm glad you enjoyed One Last Decision, Lillian.

I think cats and dogs shape us, make us something more and especially different than what we were before. Kinmo is my first pet and she has changed my life more just about anything. For example, I both love and dislike when she wakes me at 4 a.m. Who wants to get up in the middle of the night? On the other hand, I love that she wants and needs me, and I'm happy to care for her at any hour.
