Nice story. I thought towards the end that Henry would reveal himself as a fellow time-traveller, but him being an alien was a trust I didn't expect. Great stuff!

Thank you, Tony. I wasn't sure how Opposites Attract would end until I got there. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.

That was a great one Bill! I was in Astoria OR last summer, hadn’t been there in many years. Lewis and Clark aren’t the only famous ones connected to that area… GOONIES!

Thanks, Peter. I love writing (and reading) time travel stories, and I'm glad you enjoyed this one. I've spent too little time in the Pacific Northwest, but would love to see more, especially the Goonies sites. :)

Brilliant, Bill. I knew something was up, but did not guess it.

Likewise. I was getting pretty suspicious of Henry's all to compliant behavior... that nice twist at the end though... I think that last line captures perfectly Henry's sentiment of "Finally! It's all out in the open, let's get some electricity up in this log cabin (but first spaceship ride)."

Very smart and sassy! I used the same theme recently -- opposites attracting -- but very very differently. Isn't it a lovely world?

Expand full comment

Thank you. I wonder if opposites attract is true for all species in the universe. Can you share a link to your piece on opposites attracting?

Oh yeah!!! Mr. Adler delivers again. Love your twists. Yes, thank you, a ride on a space ship would be just fine.

Another reason why you are one of my favorite writers: Thanks for another great read, Bill.

Henry and Stephanie's discovery reminds me of a Mexican saying:

"You never really know who you're working for."

Keep the faith.

Thank you for your kind words, Rob. I'm delighted you enjoyed Opposites Attract.

I've hadn't heard that Mexican expression, but it rings true.

Hey, Bill also read your next two stories, also about time travel, but I like Opposites Attract best. "Nunca sabes para quien trabajas" ("You never know who you're working for") has a lot of possible applications. For example, you may think you're racking up points for your own agenda, when you're actually paving the way for someone who is after the same goal.

Happy Easter

Hi Rob, I'm very happy to hear you like Opposites Attract so much. The other time travel tales are different and I think Opposites Attract stands out.

I'm pretty sure I've been in the thrall of "Nunca sabes para quien trabajas" before without knowing. I hope you have a wonderful Easter.

Thanks, Bill: Likewise, amigo.
