You left me hanging! Did she figure out a permanent solution? Or is it an endless stream of breakthrough technologies that the drones keep beating? What happened to all the toddlers? ... so many questions ... and no answers!!
Thanks, Tree. I had fun writing Strollers and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Things got out of hand pretty quickly, but the history of the strollers vs drones could have easily (and should have) gone another way.
Absolutely ridiculous. I love it. "“Maybe parents should push strollers, like they did before?" What a concept! I'll tell you, if I had THAT stroller, I would stroll every day! Who needs a baby? I could toss out my walker and stroll in style.
Good story, and a good illustration of how we are so prone to solving the wrong problems. Thanks for not having the grisly ending I was expecting. (They were food delivery drones, after all.)
First Strollers, whats next? Self changing diapers?
Self-changing diapers sounds like a great idea to me. What could possibly go wrong? ;-)
Dune Diapers! 😅
I like it!

The war with the drones will escalate, I fear. Will it mean the end of the world? Standby. :)
Well done! Love the tone and surprises, and the escalating arms technology arms race.
Thank you, Jack. I was afraid to write about the next round of escalations, so I stopped the story at a relatively safe spot.
Ah, dependence on technology to solve problems technology created. A vicious circle. Or parents could return to actual parenting. 😉 Humans, yeesh!
I'm sure there are parents who use Alexa, Google, or Siri to tell their kids bedtime stories.
Another great story! This one has a tinge of “Black Mirror” to it. Loved it.
Thank you, Aubrey. I love Black Mirror!
Good story. To be continued, I hope?
Scott. Thanks. Yes, to be continued because we need to find out who operates these drones.
And that's how WW5 began.
I do worry about that.
can’t wait to read it, for very good reason so I liked it in advance..

"If I had a rocket launcher, I'd make somebody pay" (Bruce Cockburn).
That's a great song and song line!
Great illustration of how escalation happens in conflicts. I wonder what would change if someone took time to communicate with the drones

Thanks, Sharron. I enjoy veering into the ridiculous and I'm glad you liked Strollers.
If the drones were benign, you could use them to carry the baby into the stroller without having to go outside at all.

Thanks, Virginia. I'm glad you liked Strollers.
We humans have a tendency to find solutions that aren't solutions at all.
(You're welcome about the ending, too.)
