What a wonderful flight of fancy, Bill ... it kept me on the edge of my seat, not knowing where I might find myself next. What a deliciously inventive ending too.
(For the record, hope you don't mind me saying, you could take out the four words "the same as Nathaniel" because the white and blue aura tells the whole tale ... but what do I know!)
Thank you, Barrie! I'm glad you enjoyed The Bicycle. Fortunately, my survival instincts keep me from cycling during hurricanes.
Thanks for the editing suggestion -- they're always welcome. I take a very sharp scalpel to my stories before publication, but don't always cut everything that should be.
We have some mighty winds here in the Vienne. Not quite hurricane but 'vent sauvage', for sure. Sorry, the suggestion was way too forward. I need that scalpel more in my own scribbles!
I hope Nathaniel found a good clan to join. Now if you will excuse me, I need to go plug in my e-bike. 😉
Just imagine if Nathaniel had figured out a way to harness lightning 10,000 years ago to keep his e-bike charged. Wait! I have to write something...
🤣
Well that was certainly a surprise ending. But we still don't know what happened to poor Nathaniel.
Thanks, Virginia. I'm glad you enjoyed the surprise.
As for Nathaniel...there's bound to be a sequel.
A super ending, bringing Henry Ford into the story!
We still don’t know what happened to Nathaniel 🤣
Thanks, Deirdre. I'm glad you enjoyed The Bicycle.
Nathaniel? There may be more to come. :)
Great ending!
Thank you, Christina. This is one of my favorite time travel stories.

I decided to just keep "the same as Nathaniel" and get rid of the rest of the story. ;-)
It's always a headwind when cycling, no matter what direction you're going.
haha, bet your editor loves you!
That was so cool, Bill. I was not expecting that. A great read.
Thank you, Ben. I'm happy you enjoyed The Bicycle.
You are certainly talented in your writings and imaginative in your thinking!
Thank you for another great short story and the sequel.
Thank you for your kind words, Donna. I'm glad you enjoyed The Bicycle.
This was great! I would love to get an electric bicycle.
Thanks, David. I'm glad you enjoyed The Bicycle.
E-bikes are fun. My girlfriend and I bought a matching pair in September and we're having great adventures with them.
Jealous! 😁
"And, in other news, Ford Bicycles has apparently cornered the transportation market with its purchase of..."
History is a fickle thing, isn't it? A little twist here or there and nothing is as it once was.
Thank you, Marcus.
