Great story, thank You Bill. Although the past sounds like an adventure filled with excitement….after living in more modern times with our current luxuries, at my age a one way ticket doesn’t appeal to me.
Thanks, Dan. I'm glad you enjoyed The Tunnel. I agree: The past feels nostalgic, but I don't want to live without air conditioning (among other modern conveniences.)
Thanks for a great read read, Bill: You are indeed a very talented storyteller. I enjoyed reading "The Tunnel" as well as "Petra Jones' Phone." Since I've never had any prior experience with time tunnels, maybe I'm just confused. The only thing that I can't resolve is - if the workers were from1910 - how did they manage to go into the future of Nathan's time?
The cool thing about being a writer is that we can always create new possibilities in our story .. for instance; maybe the workers in the tunnel were not exactly "ordinary" workers....
What a great story, Bill! It is beautifully written and constructed. I’d be curious to take a look, but I’m not sure I’d be brave enough to leave this modern world behind.
Good decision Nathan. I'm off to find a tunnel. There must be one around here somewhere.
Right? The tunnel is the start of an adventure.
This is very you Bill. You certainly seem tantalised by the idea of time travel!
Thank you, Jilly. I love time travel stories. I think I've read just about every one ever written, and because of that I feel compelled to write them.

This was an incredible read. Love it and thanks for sharing❤️
Thank you. I'm happy you enjoyed The Tunnel.
Oh Bill. hope you don't time travel away from Substack, you would be missed . . .
Thank you for your kind words, Sharon. I'm here to stay.

Thanks Rob. I'm glad you enjoyed these two time travel tales.
You might also like Love Letters, which is my favorite time travel story: https://billadler.substack.com/p/love-letters.
As for building the tunnel, I can only offer this: Time travel is filled with mind-numbing confusion and contradiction. One day we'll figure it out.

Keep up the good work, Bill.

Thank you, Rob.
I agree: As writers, we can do anything.
Another exceptional story! And again, I can imagine this one as a book.
You are one talented writer and you have quite the vivid imagination.
Thanks, Donna!
I especially enjoy writing Time Travel tales and I'm glad you liked The Tunnel.
Backwards compatible 🤣
It's tempting to take the tunnels all the way to the end. Or is it the beginning?
Oh hats cool
Thanks, Kathy. I glad you liked The Tunnel.

“The Tunnel” will stay with me for a long time.
Awesome story, Bill. I love a good time tunnel. Except the ones where you land in the middle of a Civil War battle.
I would agree. Battles are not the place to travel to...but that might make for a good story.
I'm glad you enjoyed The Tunnel.
