Project manager in charge of black insulating paint. Now that's a job I could totally do! Harper could have joined the Air Force. They'd teach her to fly for nothing. I loved that elevator ride, but I would rather be dead than live underground for 10 years. I wouldn't last a week. Another cool creep-out, Bill.
Ten years...I'd run out of Netflix for sure, even all the foreign language films without subtitles. I'd likely be deep into watching the movies spoken in Latin and probably wished I'd perished during the asteroid collision.
See, no-one thinks of that stuff in the movies. It’s all underground control panels, and corridors! More exercise spaces needed! When your screenplay is written I know you’ll cover this!!
I agree with Sharron. Ten years in a bunker would drive anyone mad. Then what would you find when you went back up? If you could get back up. The elevator would surely be destroyed or buried.
That's true, David. Things that are made can be spiritual or ephemeral, too.
I read about people who have jobs where they do nothing and I wonder, is that good because they can daydream or perhaps read all day long, or is it awful because of the sameness of every day?
You have done it again Bill. You always get my brain cells moving on Sunday morning. Your 2 stories have made me think of actions and consequences in new ways. Thank you!
Ha! The most boring company to work for and that’s on purpose. Love this chilling tale!
Thank you. I had fun writing this story and I'm glad you liked it.

I'm glad you enjoyed The World's Most Boring Job.
Love it. Did not see that coming. A 10-year long underground date in the offing!
Let's hope they have bicycles and a nice, big cycling track, right? A stationary bike is going to become tedious pretty quickly.
I'm glad you enjoyed The World's Most Boring Job.

Ten years is too long to be stuck with just movies and books for entertainment. Wait a sec. Books! Books!! Books!!!
Maybe they'll want to stay inside forever.
Great story!
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed The World's Most Boring Job.
Damn, this was good. Had me glued to the screen the whole way through. One of your best, in my opinion.
Thank you, Andrei. I had fun writing this story and I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Really cool idea. I loved it. Puts a whole new meaning to the expression: Watching paint dry, doesn't it?
Thank you, Ben.
Despite the importance of their job, I'd still rather be a writer.
I liked it. Great twist and turns 👍❤️
Thank you, Julie.
"Erythro" = red, or relating to blood cells.
"Minus" = less.
"Erythminus" = bloodless?
Naming asteroids is fun, though a scary thing to do.
Hahaha glad I made it to the twist!! Talk about a boring job!!!!❤️👻
Thanks, Will. I'm happy you liked the twist.
"We don't make anything." Yes, you do- a workplace environment full of ennui and sameness.

Thanks, Lana. I'm glad you liked these stories. I had fun writing them.
No matter what we do, if we think hard enough about it, we can find value and fun inside.
So good! Bravo!
Thank you, Tony.
Thank you, Eric. I'm glad you enjoyed The World's Most Boring Job.
I like stories where the ordinary become something unexpected. I'll check out Mirth and Menace.
