Fun and intense story. I loved how this played out once Aliza realized she could dictate her reality through her writing. I can't help but wish I had the same power as an author sometimes.
Really fun story to read! I particularly liked the idea that Aliza’s writing becomes reality, no matter the medium. The abrupt ending really adds weight to the closing lines. Moon crashes into earth, done.
interesting concept made me wonder if the majority of people, if they could write fiction that became reality, would write about world peace or about their own needs.
Crazy! The things you come up with, Bill! How I wish I had Aliza's skill for 30 seconds. I would write just one sentence... But I am sure everyone feels the same and has their own sentence.
Oh, I like that one Bill. Such a good end of it all So many different possibilities for the ending, and instead, you really did make it "the End of Days." Pretty cool.
I had to go to the store to pick up a few things, and it took everything I had not to buy a Kit Kat while I was standing in line, waiting. I usually do it and eat in as I'm waiting. I give the cashier the wrapper, she scans it, I throw it away.
When she wrote "Open Sesame" with her blood, I half expected Kool & The Gang's old disco hit of that name with the weird "genie" figure talking ("I am the genie of sound. Everybody get down!") to start playing in the background...
Don't forget the papercuts and toxic White Out (though I'm not sure if anyone uses White Out anymore). And then there's the decades--sometimes centuries--of isolation from other humans as we toil away at our keyboards.
Really enjoyed this!
Thank you!

I'm glad you enjoyed The Writing on the Wall, John.
I think that writers, more than anyone else, have the power to change anything in the word we want.
Your story was super creative! Loved it.
Thank you, Erin. I'm glad you enjoyed The Writing on the Wall.

Thank you, Michael. I played around with different endings but felt that this abrupt one worked best, and I'm glad you liked it.
A rollercoaster, angry and roaring, smash-to-bits kind of story! I like it.
Thank you, Alexander!
Really enjoyed this and the unexpected place it ended up. Very creative and fun read. Thanks again for sharing your writing.
Thank you for your kind words, Aubrey. I had fun writing The Writing on the Wall and I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Such an excellent short story! Love the twists and turns you took us on! Did not expect that story when I started reading. Fabulous work Bill
Thank you very much Ami. I'm delighted you enjoyed "The Writing on the Wall," especially the twists.
Loved this story!!!
You have the most wonderful imagination!
Thank you very much, Donna.

That's one question I wondered about: How would a writer use that power? Another question is, how would they test it?
Wow! Very cool! You amaze me!!
Thanks, Christina! I'm glad you enjoyed The Writing on the Wall.

Thanks, Sharron. I might have used Aliza's skill for other purposes, though, but to each writer their own, right?
You bet! You always get me thinking.

Thanks, Ben. By the time I finished writing the first draft I was all out of my favorite Kit Kat and felt angry at the world. ;-)

A perfect way to pass the time while you wait in line.
Another cautionary tale about being a writer...
When she wrote "Open Sesame" with her blood, I half expected Kool & The Gang's old disco hit of that name with the weird "genie" figure talking ("I am the genie of sound. Everybody get down!") to start playing in the background...

Thanks, Thomas. Fiction is a wild ride. I like it and I'm glad you do, too.
Thank you, Erin. I'm delighted to hear that.
